Bom in Melbourne in 1943.

Studied art at Royal Melboume Institute of Technology.

Worked in the art department of a suburban newspaper and then taught in secondary schools in Victoria.

Had a cartoon strip "Fred and Others" published in Australia and overseas during this time.

Began work for the Melboume Age as a political cartoonist in 1972.

Since then he has won l0 Walkley Awards for cartooning andjournalism.
